Welcome to Wellbeing Plus

This is a registered charity that was set up by a number of volunteers who suffer from long term health conditions of varying degrees. Our aim is to offer practical help and support to people within the North East who are struggling with any of the following:

long term health conditions

Mental health problems

Food insecurity

Financial Difficulties

Loneliness & Isolation

Depression

We meet on a weekly basis and for some of the members, this is the only time they get out of their homes and meet with anyone. We provide a safe and welcoming environment where you can come and talk with people who are going through similar problems and difficulties, share stories and experience and gain help, advice and support in accessing other services that would be beneficial to you and your situation.

During these meetings we have planned activities with educators who teach us new skills, such as knitting, crochet, book folding, jewellery making, card making etc. For which we supply the materials. This benefits our members because they can choose to continue working on their projects during group time, for as long as they wish. Many often take their projects home and begin other projects after they complete it. If a member chooses not to participate in a group activity, they are encouraged to try one of the many other activities we have on offer such as, painting, cross stitch, colouring in, reading, puzzles, board games, cards etc

We also offer a 12 week programme where we are host to a number of external facilitators who are dedicated to ensuring that our clients make the most of the current services that are available to them, ensuring that they are in receipt of up to date information about their benefits, health and social care etc, as well as practical self help advice and support such as job searches, building a C.V, volunteering and more.

As a registered charity, we are run by our board of trustees, and a number of us actively work to recruit new members and to make other services aware of Wellbeing Plus, and how we can also benefit their clients.
